LXXVI. Her Wicked Spells

  • 17 May, 2024

"Have you discerned it?

The fear of not seeing that one person around whom your world revolves. To not be able to hear their voice ever again. To not be able to touch them or feel their soft and warm flesh. To live a life where you won't see them smile and suddenly the world no longer felt complete but a shattered piece of globe bleeding from edges.

When I saw Mandakini's body in the lonely quad, abandoned, cold and forgotten, I couldn't even begin to describe how I felt.

At first, it was nothing. No sound penetrated my ears. Then I felt the ground beneath my legs slipping. I was so scared, so scared. I feared I was all alone once again. My princess has perished. For whom shall I live now?

In that mere second, I saw flashes of the moments we shared. Moments where we cried, laughed and fought. My princess had many shades, but cowardice wasn't one of them. She was fierce, unforgiving and unyielding. Even when the world was closing on her, she survived. Then how come a swine like Raghuveer dared to kill her? Even if she had died, didn't she deserve a proper funeral or cremation?

They dumped her body in a hole and buried her beneath dirt and debris. They erased her existence so easily and didn't even plan to put her name around.
